Delete your account

The short version

Deleting your account in Daily Discipline (Android package com.dailydiscipline) is done by you, inside the app, in two taps from Settings. It is permanent, it happens immediately, and it is not a hidden archive that support can restore.

How to delete it from the app

1. Open Daily Discipline and go to the Settings tab.
2. Tap Data & privacy, then Delete account.
3. The screen shows what you are about to lose — routines, sessions, your current streak. If you want a copy, back out and use Export my data first; an export cannot be produced after deletion.
4. Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm your identity: your password if you signed up with email, or a fresh sign-in with Google or Apple if you use one of those. This has to be recent, so if you signed in a while ago you will be asked again.
5. Confirm the final prompt. The app shows a receipt code — keep it if you ever need to contact support about the deletion.

If you no longer have the app installed

Write to slavka1406@gmail.com from the email address the account was created with, with the subject “Delete my account”. The request is verified against that address and the account is deleted within 30 days, usually much sooner. Reinstalling the app and using the in-app flow above is faster and needs nobody’s help.

What is deleted

Everything the account owns, in one operation:

• the sign-in record itself — email, password or linked Google/Apple identity;
• your profile and settings: display name, avatar, time zone, preferences;
• categories, routines, routine versions and checklist items;
• your history: routine instances, sessions, checklist item states and daily summaries;
• derived progress: streaks and streak periods, achievement unlocks, goals, goal links and milestones;
• registered devices and their push notification tokens, so reminders stop;
• any analytics events recorded while analytics were switched on, and your data-export records;
• stored files: your avatar image and any export archives still held on the server;
• the copy on your phone — the app wipes its local database and returns to the welcome screen.

The server counts the remaining rows after deleting and fails loudly rather than reporting success while anything survives.

What is kept, and for how long

One anonymised receipt: a random receipt code, the timestamp, how many rows and files were removed, and the internal account identifier of the deleted account. It holds no email, no name, no routine content, and nothing that can be linked back to a person; it exists so a deletion can be confirmed if you ask about it later, and it is kept indefinitely.

Beyond that, the hosting provider’s encrypted infrastructure backups may still contain your rows until they roll over, which takes no longer than 30 days. Those backups are never used to bring a deleted account back.

If you do not want to delete everything

Analytics are opt-in and can be switched off at any time in Settings → Preferences, which stops collection immediately. Notifications can be turned off in Settings → Notifications, which retires the push token for the device. Signing out leaves the account intact and deletes nothing.
